Noida Rains Cause Car Submersion: Hindon River Overflows

Heavy rains in Noida caused the Hindon River to overflow, leading to flooding in the Ecotech 3 area. As a result, around 350 cars, including Ola cabs, got submerged in the water. Many houses in low-lying areas were also affected by the rising river waters.

Authorities took action by evacuating hundreds of people from the floodplains to shelter homes. District Magistrate Manish Verma, Additional District Magistrate Atul Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police Anil Kumar Yadav, and Noida MLA Pankaj Singh visited impacted areas to assess the situation and offer assistance.

In response to the situation, the district administration urged residents of low-lying areas near the Hindon River to move to safer locations or shelter homes. All schools up to Class 12 in Noida and Greater Noida were closed due to the heavy rains and waterlogging.

In a separate incident, two boys who went missing after slipping into the Hindon River in Ghaziabad were tragically found dead after a rescue operation by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). In Ghaziabad, flood-affected people sought refuge with their relatives and in relief camps. Additionally, two electric substations at Kanha Upvan and Morti were submerged, causing disruptions in electricity supply to societies in Rajnagar extension.
