Northern Ireland footballer Jonny Evans, aged 35, has agreed to a short-term contract with Manchester United. He will be part of the team for their upcoming pre-season matches.

Evans began his football career at Manchester United as a young player and has recently been training with the club. After leaving Leicester, who were relegated, he was considering his options. There were rumors linking him to Everton, but he has now signed a deal with Manchester United.

As part of the agreement, Evans will participate in a pre-season friendly against Lyon in Edinburgh on Wednesday. Afterwards, he will join United's academy in San Diego while the first-team squad travels to New York.

Having played for Northern Ireland 102 times, Evans made 198 appearances for Manchester United before moving to West Brom in 2015. During his time at Old Trafford, he won several major titles, including the Champions League, Club World Cup, three Premier League titles, and two League Cups.

Additionally, it has been announced that Tyrell Malacia and Rhys Bennett will be unavailable for the Lyon match and the team's trip to the United States due to injuries.
