In a shocking incident, a 39-year-old businesswoman from Bengaluru is accused of killing her four-year-old son while in North Goa and then traveling back to Karnataka with his body in a bag.
The woman, identified as Suchana Seth, had left a service apartment in North Goa's Candolim on Monday morning. Bloodstains were later found in the apartment while it was being cleaned by the staff.
Seth had returned to Karnataka when she was detained by the Aimangala police station in Chitradurga district after an alert from Goa Police. She was subsequently arrested by the Goa Police and presented before a magistrate court in Mapusa, where she was remanded to six days of police custody.
Regarding the discovery of the child's body, police investigations involved analyzing CCTV footage from the service apartment, which showed Seth leaving without her son. She initially claimed to have left her child at a friend's house in Fatorda, providing details that were later found to be false.
Upon questioning by the police, the taxi driver was discreetly directed to a nearby police station, where the child's body was discovered in the vehicle. The motive behind the murder is still under investigation.
It's being explored whether the murder might be linked to Seth's marital separation. Her husband, currently in Indonesia, has been notified and is returning to India. Seth is being held under IPC Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) as part of the investigation.
Suchana Seth is known as the CEO of an AI startup called Mindful AI Labs.
