WhatsApp's New Interface for Status Updates: Learn More

WhatsApp, the popular messaging app owned by Meta, is planning to release a new interface that will allow businesses to advertise their status updates. This feature is currently being tested by some beta users who have installed the latest update, WhatsApp Business 23.12.0.73.
One of the features introduced earlier was the boost status shortcut, which allows businesses to quickly share their status updates on Facebook and Instagram to attract new customers. WhatsApp has been working on improving the interface for enabling this feature, and beta testers can now try out the updated version.
According to WABetaInfo, the section that appears after using the boost status shortcut has been redesigned. The new interface provides information on how businesses can reach new customers and guide them to start a conversation on WhatsApp by boosting their status updates.
With this enhanced interface, WhatsApp aims to make it clear that the "boost status" option allows businesses to create sponsored posts on Facebook or Instagram, enabling them to attract new customers through the click-to-chat button.
It's important to note that when a status update is advertised, it becomes an advertisement post on Facebook or Instagram. However, it won't be shared with other WhatsApp users, as this feature is specifically designed for optional advertising on Instagram and Facebook.
This new interface is exclusively available for businesses and not for regular WhatsApp users. It is currently being tested by beta users who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta version for iOS through the TestFlight app. Over the coming weeks, the updated interface will be rolled out to more users.
