Samsung's New Galaxy Watch Tracks Major Health Issues: Everything You Need to Know

Samsung is planning to introduce a new health feature on its upcoming smartwatch. This feature will provide important alerts related to people's health, particularly concerning irregular heart rates. If someone's health is at risk, they will be notified and encouraged to seek medical attention promptly.

To access this feature, users will need to use the Samsung Health app in conjunction with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series. The approval for this feature has been obtained from the FDA and the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. Initially, Samsung plans to launch this feature in 13 markets, including the US, Hong Kong, UAE, and others, but India and most parts of Europe will not be included in the initial release.

It appears that the heart rate tracking tool will be exclusive to Samsung users. Samsung aims to have a significant impact, similar to Apple's health feature, which has become a standard for Android devices as well. The main advantage of this new feature is that it can alert users wearing compatible watches about potential risks of stroke or heart failure.

The irregular heart rate tracker will work in conjunction with the ECG function on the Galaxy Watch 6 series, which monitors heart rhythm and alerts the user to irregular heartbeats. While these devices are helpful, it's important to consult a doctor for proper treatment and advice if any irregular heart activity is detected.

More information about this feature and its compatibility will be unveiled at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event when the Galaxy Watch 6 series is launched next month.
