Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan has recently purchased a piece of land to build a home in Ayodhya. The property is located in The Sarayu, a 7-star mixed-use enclave in Ayodhya, developed by Mumbai-based company The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL).
According to a Hindustan Times report, the property, spanning 10,000 square feet, is valued at Rs 14.5 crores. The news comes just ahead of the formal inauguration of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, to be conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Sarayu spans 51 acres, and Amitabh Bachchan expressed his excitement about the investment, stating, “I am looking forward to embarking on this journey with The House of Abhinandan Lodha for The Sarayu in Ayodhya, a city that holds a special place in my heart. The timeless spirituality and cultural richness of Ayodhya have forged an emotional connection that transcends geographical boundaries. This is the start of a heartfelt journey into the soul of Ayodhya, where tradition and modernity seamlessly co-exist, creating an emotional tapestry that resonates with me deeply. I am looking forward to building my home in the global spiritual capital.”
The property is situated approximately 15 minutes away from the Ram Temple and 30 minutes away from the Ayodhya International Airport. Abhinandan Lodha, chairman of HoABL, expressed confidence in the city's economic potential and appreciation for its spiritual heritage due to Bachchan's investment, turning the project into a symbol of Ayodhya’s global spiritual significance.
