The film's writer and director, Mari Selvaraj, announced on Twitter that the trailer will be released on June 16. He also shared the film's poster, featuring Udhayanidhi running among dogs with a stick, and a large black-and-white picture of veteran actor Vadivelu in the background.
The trailer of "Maamannan" was initially planned to be released during the audio launch event on June 1, but it was postponed. Only the audio of the film was launched during the event, which included a live concert by AR Rahman.
In addition to the poster and trailer update, the songs of "Maamannan" have caught the audience's attention. One of the songs, titled "Kodi Parakura Kaalam," composed by AR Rahman and featuring lyrics by Yugabharathi, has gained significant popularity. The lyrical version of the song, sung by Kalpana Raghavendar, Rakshita Suresh, Deepthi Suresh, and Aparna Harikumar, was unveiled by Sony Music South on June 13 and has garnered over 1.5 million views. The song's official video showcases Keerthy Suresh and other artists dancing, with the audience applauding their performance.
"Maamannan," produced by Red Giant Movies, is set to release in theaters on June 29. Alongside Udhayanidhi Stalin, the film also features Keerthy Suresh, Raveena Ravi, Fahadh Faasil, and others. Filmmaker AR Murugadoss will make a cameo appearance in the movie, as announced during the audio launch event.
The storyline of "Maamannan" revolves around a community that has been exploited by a powerful individual. However, the tables turn when a man collects evidence to fight against him, making it a political thriller.
