Hema told Hindustan Times that Dharmendra gave her the best gift by flying from the US to be with her on her birthday. She said, "He is here for my birthday, and the biggest gift he gives me is spending time with us."
Reflecting on her life, Hema admitted, "I have been busy working all these years, and I didn't even realize how time passed. I can't believe I'm 75 today, but age is just a number. It depends on how you take care of yourself and inspire others with your work. I do the work I get, spend time with my children and grandchildren. Life is beautiful."
