The Inspirational Journey of Assam's Diganta Das: From Daily Wage Laborer to Food Entrepreneur

Diganta Das started as a daily-wage laborer but worked hard to become a successful food entrepreneur. He now proudly owns DFF - Daily Fresh Food, a popular brand known for its ready-to-eat parathas. Twelve years ago, Diganta struggled to find odd jobs to support his family, taking up various roles, including working in a coal mine and doing cooking tasks.

In 2012, Diganta's life changed when he joined iD Fresh Food in Bengaluru as a manual laborer. He got a chance to assist with packaging and was later trained to prepare multi-layer parottas. In 2017, Diganta and a friend saw an opportunity in Vijayawada to establish their own food business, DFF - Daily Fresh Food, focusing on parottas.

Despite initial struggles, their business showed promise. However, the pandemic posed challenges, and they had to temporarily shut down. Determined not to give up, Diganta worked as a carpenter to support his family. While doing so, he noticed the demand for parottas in the local market.

Diganta reached out to a former supervisor from iD Fresh Food, Faizul Haque, who was manufacturing parottas in Guwahati. With Haque's support, Diganta started selling parottas in Biswanath Chariali.

Encouraged by positive feedback, Diganta decided to partner with his friend from Andhra Pradesh to establish a joint venture in Assam. In September 2022, Daily Fresh Food took off successfully. Today, DFF produces 1,400 half-baked parottas daily and employs ten dedicated individuals.
