India Welcomes the New Kia Seltos Facelift

Kia India has revealed the updated version of the Seltos SUV, featuring several enhancements and the reintroduction of the turbo-petrol engine. The Seltos facelift can be booked starting from July 14.

The Seltos facelift introduces a new Pewter Olive color option. The GT Line and X Line trims have a slightly modified body kit. It also incorporates 16 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) features. The Seltos was initially launched in India in August 2019 and has now received a midlife refresh after nearly four years. Kia has already sold over 500,000 units of the Seltos since its launch.

In terms of exterior design, the Seltos facelift showcases a slightly larger bumper, body-colored inserts in the fog lamp housing, redesigned headlights with new LED daytime running lamps extending into the grille, and a four-block design for the fog lamps. It now boasts 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, which were previously exclusive to the X Line trim. At the rear, the facelifted model features new inverted L-shaped tail-lights connected by an LED light bar, sequential turn indicators, and a redesigned bumper with reduced chrome accents. The tailgate design has also been refreshed.

Inside the cabin, the Seltos facelift introduces a dual-screen setup with two 10.25-inch displays. One screen serves as the digital instrument cluster while the other functions as the touchscreen infotainment system. The center console has been updated with thinner AC vents and a redesigned panel for HVAC and media controls. The X Line trim offers a new sage green interior color, while the GT Line variants come with a black and white theme.

The Seltos facelift comes equipped with various features, including a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, an 8-inch heads-up display, electronic parking brake, rain-sensing wipers, and an 8-speaker Bose sound system with sound mood lamps. Safety features include 17 ADAS functions such as forward collision warning assist, blind spot collision warning, and lane keep assist. Additionally, it has standard six airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, ESC, and Hill Assist Control.

Under the hood, the Seltos facelift retains the existing 1.5-liter petrol engine generating 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque, as well as the 1.5-liter turbo-diesel engine producing 116 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. The petrol engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a CVT, while the diesel engine is available with a 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Kia has reintroduced a turbo-petrol engine for the Seltos facelift, replacing the previous 1.4-liter turbo-petrol engine that did not meet BS6 Phase 2 emissions norms and was discontinued in March 2023. The new 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine generates 160 horsepower and 253 Nm of torque, which is an improvement of 20 horsepower and 11 Nm over its predecessor. It can be paired with a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The Seltos facelift competes with other SUVs in the Indian market, including the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, and Citroen C3 Aircross.
