Tata, a well-known car manufacturer, plans to release the eagerly awaited Avinya in India around 2025. Many details about its design and specifications were already revealed at AutoExpo 2023. In recent news, the company has officially confirmed that the Avinya electric vehicle (EV) will utilize Jaguar Land Rover's (JLR) Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform.
The Tata Avinya and JLR's Platform Tata has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JLR, allowing them to use JLR's platform for their electric vehicles. This platform will also be used in the next-generation Range Rover Velar, Discovery Sport, and Evoque.
Future Use of EMA Platform by Tata Tata plans to use the EMA platform in their upcoming products. They will localize the modular architecture in India for the development of the electric Avinya. This approach will not only reduce costs but also save time.
Highlights of the EMA Platform You might be wondering why Tata chose JLR's EMA platform. This platform offers advanced technology, including Level 2 plus autonomous capabilities, efficient battery management, rapid charging, an integrated propulsion system, over-the-air updates, and more. JLR is expected to launch its first EMA-based vehicles in the United Kingdom by 2024.
Tata Avinya's Design The electric Avinya is anticipated to have a futuristic design, possibly borrowing elements from its concept version showcased at AutoExpo. It will sport full LED headlights, LED daytime running lights (DRLs) on the front grille, and a dual-tone color scheme, although official details are yet to be confirmed.
