The teams participating in the league are Los Angeles Knight Riders, MI New York, San Francisco Unicorns, Seattle Orcas, Texas Super Kings, and Washington Freedom. Most of the teams are owned by Indian American venture capitalists in the IT and start-up sector.
The inaugural season will follow a round-robin format, and the top four performing teams will compete in a multi-game playoff to determine the champion. Notable players participating in the league include Rashid Khan, Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo, Marcus Stoinis, Aaron Finch, Jason Roy, Liam Plunkett, Dasun Shanaka, and Trent Boult.
The league has generated excitement among cricket fans from various countries, including Australia, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and New Zealand. The US media market's significant size is expected to attract attention and eventually allow Indian players to participate in the league.
