Amid ongoing rumors, Mahindra has clarified that the launch of the 5-door Thar is not happening this year. The company addressed the speculation through a detailed explanation on their social media platforms, stating that the launch is scheduled for 2024 in India.
The leaked images of the 5-door Mahindra Thar created a buzz on the internet, suggesting that it will be a more practical vehicle compared to the current 3-door model. It is expected to offer extra space, a larger wheelbase, advanced features, and, of course, 5 doors. While the dashboard layout might remain similar to the 3-door model, there could be noticeable cosmetic changes both inside and outside.
According to speculations, the Thar 5-door might be available in two engine options. One is a 2-liter turbo-petrol engine expected to deliver around 150 horsepower, while the other is a 2.2-liter diesel engine with a maximum power of 132 horsepower.
