Egypt Honors Modi with Order of the Nile

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with Egypt's highest accolade, the 'Order of the Nile,' by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo. Established in 1915, this prestigious award is bestowed upon heads of state, crown princes, and vice presidents who have made invaluable contributions to Egypt or humanity. It marks the 13th highest state honor bestowed upon Prime Minister Modi. The 'Order of the Nile' consists of a pure gold collar with three square gold units featuring Pharaonic symbols. Each unit represents a different concept: protection against evil, prosperity and happiness brought by the Nile, and wealth and endurance. These units are linked by a circular gold flower adorned with turquoise and ruby. The collar is accompanied by a hexagonal pendant decorated with Pharaonic-style flowers and gems. The pendant symbolizes the Nile, which unites the North (represented by the Papyrus) and the South (represented by the Lotus). Over the past nine years, Prime Minister Modi has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Companion of the Order of Logohu from Papua New Guinea, the Companion of the Order of Fiji, the Ebakl Award from the Republic of Palau, the Order of the Druk Gyalp from Bhutan, the Legion of Merit from the US Government, the King Hamad Order of the Renaissance from Bahrain, the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Nishan Izzuddin from the Maldives, the Order of St. Andrew award from Russia, the Order of Zayed Award from the United Arab Emirates, the Grand Collar of the State of Palestine Award, the State Order of Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan from Afghanistan, and the Order of Abdulaziz Al Saud from Saudi Arabia (awarded to non-Muslim dignitaries).
