The stroke occurred while he was on vacation on a Croatian island, and he had to be transported to the hospital by helicopter. Van der Sar was admitted to the intensive care unit on Friday. Ajax expressed their support for him on Twitter, stating that he is in stable condition and they wish him a speedy recovery. Van der Sar, aged 52, won Champions League titles with both Ajax and Manchester United. He recently stepped down as CEO of Ajax. Manchester United also released a statement expressing their concern and sending well wishes to him and his family. Van der Sar is highly regarded for his contributions as a goalkeeper during his time at Manchester United, where he won multiple titles under Sir Alex Ferguson.
