Amid growing tensions between Israel and Palestine, top government sources told News18 that India is regularly communicating with its counterparts in West Asia and Europe to promote global peace.

The Indian government is also in touch with Saudi Arabia, and NSA-level talks with the desert nation may occur soon.

The situation in Gaza, where the Palestinian military group has carried out bombings, has deeply concerned the Israeli government. They claim that thousands of their citizens have been killed in the attacks. Meanwhile, several Muslim countries, such as Egypt, Iraq, and Lebanon, who support the Palestinians, have condemned Israel, especially after a significant explosion at a hospital in Gaza on Tuesday.

India, with a significant Muslim population, is approaching the ongoing conflict cautiously. The Indian government has stated its support for Israel and condemned the actions of the Hamas terrorist group. They have made it clear that their support for Israel remains unwavering.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is regularly briefed by relevant authorities on the Israel-Hamas conflict. His recent statement, condemning the hospital attack in Gaza, reaffirms India's commitment to strengthening its ties with Israel. PM Modi expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza, offering condolences to the victims' families and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured. He emphasized the need for accountability in cases of civilian casualties during the ongoing conflict.

Meanwhile, international leaders, including US President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, are in Israel to show solidarity with the country during this war. Biden, during his visit to Tel Aviv, cautioned Israel not to repeat the mistakes made by the US in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.

As per reports, the Gaza Health Ministry has stated that 3,500 Palestinians have been killed, and over 11,000 have been injured. On the Israeli side, around 1,400 people have lost their lives, and nearly 200, including children, have been captured by Hamas and taken to Gaza, according to Israeli authorities.
