A special ceremony called "Kalash Pujan" took place on Wednesday as part of the preparations for the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple on January 22. The temple trust member, Anil Mishra, along with his wife and others, performed the ritual on the banks of the Saryu river. After the ceremony, pots filled with water from the Saryu were taken to the Ram temple complex for the ongoing pre-consecration rituals.
Anil Mishra, as the "yajman" for the "puja," is required to participate in all the rituals, including those scheduled for January 22. A total of 121 "acharyas" are leading the rituals, with Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid overseeing and coordinating the proceedings. The main "acharya" for the event will be Laxmikant Dixit of Kashi. The actual consecration of the Ram temple, known as "Pran Pratishtha," is set to begin at 12:20 pm on January 22 and is expected to conclude by 1 pm.
