Irrfan Khan and Sutapa Sikdar were a couple in Bollywood who kept their married life private. Recently, Sutapa expressed her desire to write a book about Irrfan Khan, focusing on the funny moments they shared together. She mentioned this during the book launch of film critic Shubhra Gupta's book about Irrfan Khan. Sutapa wanted to avoid making the book sentimental and instead wanted it to be a humorous journey. She explained that people often perceived Irrfan Khan as intimidating and serious, but in reality, he was not like that. Although the book is not yet ready, she expressed her intention to complete it in the future. Sutapa also talked about Irrfan Khan's emphasis on the intention behind storytelling. Although he was not a practicing Muslim, he valued the concept of "niyat" (intention) in Islam. He believed in transparency and honesty when telling stories. Sutapa highlighted that in film scripts, the story should be entertaining and not preachy, while still maintaining a clear intention. Sutapa Sikdar started her career alongside Irrfan Khan at the National School of Drama (NSD). She later became a film producer, dialogue writer, and screenplay writer. She produced movies like "Madaari" and "Qarib Qarib Single," both featuring Irrfan Khan. Sutapa was also known for her dialogue writing in critically acclaimed films such as "Supari" and "Kahaani."
