Pakistan used mostly junior players who are getting ready for the Junior World Hockey Championship, as the senior team is preparing for the Asian Games. The game was practically decided in the first quarter, with both teams attacking aggressively.
In the ninth minute, Pakistan took the lead when Ammad tapped the ball in from close range. Just a minute later, Muhammad Khan scored from a penalty corner to double the lead. He quickly added another goal in the same manner, making it a 3-0 lead.
In the 15th minute, Shahid scored Pakistan's fourth goal after a series of passes between Rana and Ammad. China showed more aggression in the second half and managed to score in the 35th minute through a penalty corner taken by Chen.
As the match progressed, China tried to attack, but Pakistan's goalkeeper change and good defending prevented further goals. In the 52nd minute, Pakistan scored again with Ammad tapping in a rebound from a penalty corner.
Rana added Pakistan's sixth goal just three minutes later with a solo effort. Despite China's late attempts, Pakistan secured an easy victory.
