Japan, who had won the Asian Games before, managed to win the bronze medal in the Asian Champions Trophy by defeating South Korea 5-3. The match took place at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium on Saturday.

Japan started strong, scoring two goals in the first 10 minutes. Ryoma Ooka scored in the 3rd minute, and Ryosei Kata scored a penalty corner in the 9th minute. However, South Korea fought back, with Jang Jonghyun scoring a penalty corner goal in the 15th minute, followed by Park Cheoleon's goal in the 26th minute.

In the second quarter, Japan had several chances with penalty corners but couldn't score. Just before halftime, Kentaro Fukuda managed to score a field goal, giving Japan the lead again.

South Korea didn't give up and tied the game 3-3 in the third quarter with another goal from Jang Jonghyun.

In the final quarter, Japan intensified their efforts. Shota Yamada scored a goal in the 53rd minute, putting Japan ahead. Soon after, Ken Nagayoshi converted a penalty stroke to secure the victory and the bronze medal for Japan.

Despite losing to India in the semifinals, Japan showed great determination and skill in this match, ultimately winning the bronze medal.
