An official complaint has been filed against actress Tanisha Kuppanda, a participant in Bigg Boss Kannada season 10. The complaint alleges that Tanisha used disrespectful language towards the Bhovi community during a conversation with another contestant named Drone Pratap. This incident led to the filing of a legal case under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) Atrocities Act.
The complaint was lodged by P Padma, the state president of Akhil Karnataka, Bhovi Samaj, at the Kumbalagodu Police Station near Bengaluru. Tanisha's use of a particular word considered offensive to the Bhovi community stirred strong reactions, prompting calls for immediate action against her.
The Vaddar community also reacted strongly, claiming deliberate disrespect and demanding swift repercussions against Tanisha due to the SC status of the Bhovi community. The FIR registered under the SC/ST Atrocities Act escalates the legal seriousness of the matter.
This incident has caused controversy and raised concerns about Tanisha's continuation in the Bigg Boss house. Calls for her eviction from the show have surfaced, emphasizing the importance of respecting the Bhovi community.
The Karnataka Bhovi Samaj has strongly criticized Tanisha's alleged remarks, urging her immediate arrest and legal action. The community believes that such behavior tarnishes an individual's reputation and negatively impacts the cultural and social values associated with the community.
Separately, contestant Varthur Santosh faced legal trouble after wearing a tiger claw locket on the show's premiere. He was arrested by the forest department following an FIR filed due to the use of this prohibited item.
Tanisha Kuppanda is known for her work in Kannada and Tamil films since her debut in 2016 with the movie "Kaarna." She has appeared in various daily soap operas such as "Saakshi," "Saptamatruka," and "Ashwini Nakshatra."
