Instances of mental and physical harm in romantic relationships are quite common. People who experience this kind of mistreatment often choose not to talk about it. Sometimes, they gather the strength to oppose their abusive partner. Recently, a video surfaced on social media where a woman, who is gay, shared her terrible experience in an abusive relationship. She talked about how she went against her family to marry her girlfriend, but now she's facing not just harassment but also physical harm from her partner. This incident reportedly took place in Malaysia. She decided to make a video showing her partner hurting her and posted it on Twitter. The video quickly became popular and received strong reactions from many people.
One person said, "We should focus on solving issues like this instead of ignoring them." Another person wrote, "Honestly, this is upsetting. We should be able to marry freely. What's going on?"
Another comment read, "It's really sad that she got hurt. I hope she gets better soon."
In the video, both of them are sitting and talking, when suddenly one of them becomes angry and starts hitting the other with a stick.
The video message reads, "From being choked to slapped, punched, and kicked, I've endured all of this silently for a long time because of love and care. But now I can't take it anymore."
According to a recent study by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Williams Institute of Law in the United States, about 44% of lesbian and approximately 61% of bisexual women have experienced different types of sexual assault and physical violence from an intimate partner.
