Vande Bharat Express Passengers Return with Unpleasant Food Smell

A video is circulating online, showing many passengers asking the train staff to take back their almost untouched food trays. A Vande Bharat Express train passenger posted the video, claiming that the food served on the train was not good. In the video, he points out that the vegetable dish smells bad, and the daal is stale.

In his post, the passenger tagged Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and complained about the bad quality of food. He requested a refund, stating that these vendors are harming the reputation of Vande Bharat Express.

Another person commented on the post, mentioning a similar condition on Rajdhani trains. They expressed dissatisfaction with the cleanliness of trains and the stench left on platforms when trains pass. The comment also criticized the substandard food in railways and accused some individuals of corruption.

A suggestion was made for Indian Railways to provide dry snacks instead of cooked meals. The commenter emphasized that cooked food tends to become stale after a few hours, and suggested supplying dry snacks like chevda with tea or coffee.

This is not the first time someone has raised concerns about the food quality on Vande Bharat Express trains. In July 2023, a passenger highlighted the contrast between the high-quality food served during the inaugural run and the low-quality food served later. The passenger described the new meal as "Stone hard Paneer, Cold Food, Stale Salty Dal," expressing disappointment with the missing items and overall food quality.
