People often hear about twins and triplets being born, but what surprises many are rainbow babies. A rainbow baby is a term used for a child born right after a miscarriage. The name "rainbow baby" is given because it's like a beautiful rainbow appearing after a storm. This idea has become well-known in recent years because it symbolizes hope and healing.
Recently, a woman from England achieved something incredible. She gave birth to three rainbow babies, and what's even more surprising is that they all share the same birthday. Her name is Emma Smith, and she was told that she might never be able to have children. Despite this, she ended up having three kids, each born on June 20 but in different years. Emma is 42 years old and works as a wedding planner.
Emma has a condition called endometritis, which causes inflammation and infection in the uterus. This condition made it difficult for her to stay pregnant, and she lost babies during pregnancy. She found out about this condition when she was 18 and had to go through ten surgeries to try and overcome it.
Emma thought she would never have the chance to be a mother. She mentioned in an interview, "I suffered the heartache of watching friends and family members having children, adamant that it would never be my turn." However, in 2016, she welcomed her first son, Alfie James, with her partner Dave Mycock, which amazed her.
Years later, Emma became pregnant again, but unfortunately had a miscarriage. Later, she got pregnant with Jesse Joe in 2019, and he was also born on June 20. To her disbelief, she had one more child, Arley Jay, who was born on the same date. All three of her boys are considered "rainbow babies."
Emma expressed her feelings by saying, "If you were to put a bet on a horse with those odds, you’d never think it would come in as a winner, but we certainly have – three times. It’s a complete miracle, it’s magical, and we just feel completely and utterly blessed."
