Gadar 3 is officially in the works! Director Anil Sharma has confirmed the exciting news. This announcement follows the success of Gadar 2, starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, which made history at the box office and became one of the top-grossing films of 2023. Given the massive success of both Gadar films, Sunny and Anil have agreed to collaborate on a third installment. However, there's a catch – the film won't be happening this year.
According to a report from Pinkvilla, Zee Studios has given the green light for Gadar 3, and the initial paperwork has already been completed. Anil Sharma shared, "Yes, Tara Singh will be back, as we have locked in the basic idea of Gadar 3. I am presently shooting for my next film and will start working on the Gadar 3 script very soon."
A close source revealed, "Gadar 2 ended with a promise of Gadar 3, and that wasn't just for attention. Since the film's release, Anil Sharma and his team have been brainstorming ideas for the third part, and they have finalized the basic idea. Like the previous films, Gadar 3 will be set against the Indo-Pak conflict, but with higher stakes."
The report mentioned that extensive writing will be done to develop the idea further. The source added, "The team knows the direction of Tara Singh, Sakina, and Jeete's story from here on." If all goes well, Gadar 3 might start filming by the end of 2025.
In the meantime, Sunny Deol is gearing up for the shoot of "Lahore: 1947" in February.
