Sonu Nigam has been in the news for positive reasons lately. He sang a song for Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki and reconciled with T-Series head Bhushan Kumar, making music together. But amid the good times, there was a troubling incident during one of his concerts in Mumbai.

During the concert, a person associated with Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Phaterpekar tried to take photos with Sonu Nigam, causing a disturbance. While Sonu escaped unhurt, his mentor Ghulam Mustafa Khan’s son Rabbani Khan and his bodyguard were injured and taken to the hospital.

Sonu Nigam talked about the incident, saying it happened because someone, likely a fan, wanted a photo and pushed his staff member. He emphasized the need for event organizers to manage venues properly, sell appropriate tickets, and for fans to behave responsibly.

This wasn’t the only incident involving artists and fans causing trouble at concerts. AR Rahman faced criticism for an oversold concert in Chennai, leading to upset attendees. Last year, singer KK passed away due to mismanagement at a concert in Kolkata, highlighting the growing issue of mismanagement and unsafe audience behavior at such events.

Lyricist Mehboob stressed the importance of organizers ensuring safety by not overselling tickets or allowing overcrowding. He also mentioned the responsibility lies with event management to maintain safety standards.

He added that artists shouldn’t be blamed for such mishaps, referring to the unfortunate incident with KK’s concert. Event organizers should prioritize basic safety for both the audience and artists, considering the revenue generated from live concerts.
