Sad news for Manchester City as they mourn the loss of their former player, Paul Hince. He later became a well-known sports journalist and City correspondent for the Manchester Evening News.
Paul, born in Manchester in 1945, was a devoted City fan. He played for the club from 1966 to 1968, making 11 appearances and scoring four goals. During his time with the team, they won the Division One title in 1967/68 under Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison. However, Paul and three other players didn't receive their winner's medals until October 2021 due to a smaller allocation by the Football League.
After leaving City, he played for other clubs like Charlton, Bury, Crewe, and Macclesfield. However, he eventually shifted his focus to sports journalism with the Manchester Evening News, where he had a highly successful career for over 30 years. Paul was known for his wit, wisdom, and entertaining writing, and he held various roles, including City correspondent and chief sportswriter, until retiring in 2006.
Manchester City extends their heartfelt condolences to Paul's family during this difficult time.
