Rani Mukerji's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai Pairing Concern Resolved by Karan Johar

In an interview with HT, Rani recalled her initial concerns about her role in the film. She remembered discussing her worries with Karan, especially regarding Shah Rukh and Kajol's iconic pairing in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and whether the audience would accept Shah Rukh's character falling in love with Tina in the film. However, Karan reassured her and convinced her to join the project by explaining it clearly to her. This made her feel comfortable and is one of the reasons she holds Kuch Kuch Hota Hai dear to her heart. She mentioned, "I remember voicing my concern to him right after I had heard the narration. He said, 'You don't worry about it, as long as you are doing the film, you leave that worry to me.'" Rani also added, "Karan was truly the reason I was a part of the film because I felt very comfortable interacting with him. He narrated the film with such clarity as if I was literally watching the movie unfold in front of me. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is one of the films that will always remain very close to my heart."
Rani's favorite line from the movie is 'Pyaar Dosti Hai,' which embodies the film's central theme that love is rooted in friendship. She noted, "When Rahul said, 'Jisse mai pyaar karunga, vo meri sabse achi dost bhi honi chahiye,' people could feel it. And, the songs of the film were also a hit; my favorites have to be the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai title track and Koi Mil Gaya."
