Amitabh Bachchan, a unique actor known for his remarkable performances in movies like Brahmastra, Goodbye, and Uunchai, recently gifted the famous 'Prateeksha' bungalow to his daughter, Shweta Bachchan, as a heartfelt gesture of love.
According to a Moneycontrol report, the property, spanning across two plots totaling 890.47 sq m and 674 sq m, was officially handed over to Shweta Bachchan via a gift deed on November 8. The transaction included a stamp duty of Rs 50.65 lakh, as confirmed by zapkey. Notably, the flat was jointly donated by Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, with Shweta Nanda being the recipient through the Vithal Nagar Cooperative Housing Society Ltd.
Earlier this year, on July 1, Amitabh Bachchan purchased four units on the 21st floor of a building, paying a stamp duty of Rs 43.10 lakh for office spaces in Andheri. These units comprised three parking slots and were sold by Veer Savarkar Projects Private Ltd. This move reflects a trend among Bollywood celebrities, favoring investment in commercial real estate for better rental returns compared to residential properties.
On a personal note, Amitabh and Jaya's love story began in 1970, although they didn't interact much initially. It was during the filming of the 1972 movie "Ek Nazar" that their love blossomed, leading to a beautiful married life and the birth of their two children, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Nanda Bachchan.
Recently, Amitabh Bachchan made a cameo appearance in Abhishek Bachchan's film "Ghoomer." His upcoming project, "2898 AD," featuring Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Disha Patani and directed by Nag Ashwin, is expected to release next year.
