Tirthanand Rao Breaks Silence on Suicide Attempt: No Option Left

Kapil Sharma's co-star, Tirthanand Rao, made headlines when he attempted suicide during a live session on social media. In a live video on his official Facebook page, Rao claimed that a woman was responsible for his current state. In an interview with Aaj Tak, he explained that this woman had caused him to be homeless for over 10 days, and he was tired of her mistreatment. According to Rao, when the police contacted her, she callously stated, "Let him die, I was anyways leaving him," before hanging up. He also mentioned that she had filed false cases against him and demanded money and valuables in exchange for dropping the charges.

Rao revealed that the woman wanted a share in his house and that he had recently given her a ₹2 lakh phone. He expressed his shame over his actions but stated that he felt he had no other choice. His main plea was for the woman to withdraw the false cases and release him from this ordeal, as he had depleted all his finances and could no longer focus on his work.

During the live session, Rao claimed that he had been in a "live-in" relationship with the woman, but she emotionally manipulated him and extorted money from him.

It's worth noting that this wasn't the first time Tirthanand Rao attempted suicide. He had previously made a similar attempt in December 2021. During that incident, he went live on Facebook and informed his assistant about his decision to take such a drastic step due to various reasons. When approached by News18.com, he revealed that the past two years had been extremely difficult for him financially, with no savings. Despite having some pending projects, such as the film Pav Bhaji, for which he hadn't been paid, he struggled to make ends meet. There were days when he couldn't afford to eat properly and survived on just one vada pav. He felt that ending his life was the only way out of his dire circumstances.
